Under other circumstances, I would probably be writing about how lame this song is, how American Idol is dumb, or how it sounds like a copy of a copy of a copy of a popular band.
But one advantage of being clueless about what is going on in popular culture is being able to let a good song get to you, no matter its pedigree.
I heard this song on the radio today while I was driving home from picking up some boxes for our upcoming move. For once, we're not moving to a new city or a new country -- we're just heading a couple blocks down the road. But it's been the most stressful move of the six or seven we've done in the last ten years. Maybe because we have a baby now, or because money is tighter at the moment. I've just been so worried about moving into this new place.
I know this song isn't really "about" anything. I know horoscopes are written vaguely so that everyone can relate to them. I know that even an experience like St. Augustine's "take and read, take and read" can seem like it's being overinterpreted as a divine message rather than an interesting coincidence.
But man, I needed to hear this song today. And I am 1000% on board with claiming it as prophetic.
"Just know you’re not alone;
I’m going to make this place your home"

sometimes perfection hits harder than an ice-cream truck. lovely :)
My dad got that CD as a Christmas gift from a co-worker, and it's actually quite a good album. I wouldn't have sought it out either. Anyway, I'm glad you came across this song to give you some peace!
