Sixpence None the Richer - My Dear Machine EP available

Out of nowhere, Sixpence releases their EP on NoiseTrade, a website which allows you to download albums free (if you provide the email address of 3 friends -- which the site does not store or keep) -- or you can pay any amount from $1 to $25.

I've been reading your articles about Sixpence and really enjoy them. I'm quite curious why this EP has come out so randomly...in such an obscure place. Also, I'm really quite intrigued, does "Amazing Grace" Actually use the d-word? And why is this necessary? hmm....

It is odd that this EP was released with little warning, but Sixpence did hint that they'd put it out online (iTunes) this summer. I guess when NoiseTrade started up (only a few weeks ago, I think), somebody decided it might be a good alternative. I suppose time will tell if it was a good move.

The line "you're everywhere in every time/and yet you're so damn hard to find" does appear in "Amazing Grace." I'm not really interested in the question of whether it's "necessary" to say God is "so damn hard to find," so I don't think I can really comment on that. But the song is along the lines of some other Sixpence songs about the challenges and difficulties of the Christian faith -- see "Circle of Error," "Meaningless," "Still Burning," etc.

If you are upset that Matt curses at God, be assured that God can handle it. God is hard to find. and yes we shouldn't curse, but we do sometimes don't we? God would rather us talk to Him with curse words than to not talk to Him at all.
