Did you notice that whole thing about David Bazan being agnostic last year? I did, and it stuck in my craw (wait, is that really what I mean? whatever) and so now you can read what I wrote about it on this remarkably good-looking new web magazine called Patrol. Here it is, "David Bazan's (Inevitable) Apostasy."
UPDATE: A friend emailed to point out that this article caused a huge discussion/debate on a Pedro the Lion message board. I read it (despite what I said about message boards in the article -- I couldn't help myself), but there is no way I am linking to it here.

Ohhkay, now THAT is Dave. I have no idea who that 1990's looking skinny long-haired dude was, but it was definitely not him. Did you say something to them to change it? Or was my computer just routing funny pictures instead of the actual one there for a while?

@Gwen - yeah, I noticed it right away. I am really racking my brain trying to figure out who it was. It kind of looked like the guy from the Album Leaf, but also like 15 years ago. Anyway, glad they fixed it.
@Dave - Hey, that's what I wrote about it...I', just the messenger. Embarrassingly, though, I found out that there was an earlier interview where he said the same stuff -- like a year earlier. At least I got the scoop on the "insightful commentary" ... maybe...

I really dug this article. Obviously, you could possibly write a book on the whys and so forth. Although, truth be told, I identify more with David Bazan in this context than the version of him that existed in 1999-2001, but I'm never the person to completely shut the door on anything.
