The Inlander mistakenly credits me for the story about Seaweed Jack this week (I didn't write it - I don't even know who they are!). I did write this essay about the band Live, and previews of shows by the Devil Makes Three and Broken Letters.
In the CN&R, there's a feature on China Room, who are a surprisingly good band from LA, although I am not sure I did a very good job describing them, because I accidentally erased my first draft and had to recreate most of it from memory. In the SN&R I reviewed Huckleberry Flint's Good Night Darling.
The coup de grace is this long essay about my fave Canadians, The Weakerthans. A few caveats: there are some typos and some logical leaps that didn't get ironed out. For example, in the first section I say pop music is postmodern, and in the second, I say it is actually modern. Make of that what you will. Here is Beyond the Pomo Blues with the Weakerthans.

Yup, there's no way to escape that remembering Live and Collective Soul totally give me flashbacks to high school. I might have break out those old CDs and give them a listen. :) But no, I would not pay $40 to see them.
