Um, so according to Christian Music Today, Brian freaking McSweeney is playing guitar with Audio Adrenaline on the last leg of their farewell tour.
This is blowing my mind for a million reasons.
Audio Adrenaline = the band that completely destroyed my faith in "Christian Music" around the age of 16 when, in the middle of their show, they stopped to explain to the audience that their music -- I'm not making this up -- was a "trick" to get people to hear about Jesus, and that it didn't matter.
Seven Day Jesus (McSweeney's first band) = a band that made me believe Christians could make beautiful rock and roll without resorting to the kind of posturing and sanctimoniousness that a band like Audio Adrenaline did.
Matthew (McSweeney's current band) = A total reaction against everything that happened to Seven Day in the "CCM" market, about to release a new record full of swears!
It's like the thesis and antithesis of my teenage years are meeting head-on!

this is going to sound lame, but i always thought that seven day jesus was a secular band with a cool sounding name.
