On Exuberance
Exuberance makes irony irrelevant. Andrew W.K. was one example of this: on paper, we were supposed to hate him, with his overcompressed guitars, ridiculous metal posturing, stupid songs about how it’s time to party. But then we realized that he was completely serious and he was really loving flailing his arms and legs around on stage and that he smashed himself in the face with a brick because he thought it would look cool and all of a sudden we didn’t hate him.

i've seen that bible before. a very cool idea, though the process looks quite laborious. i seem to remember finding a website that sold them, but they were pretty pricey.
and the dave barry reference...priceless. my vocabulary is sprinkled with dave barry references that only my brother and i find humorous.
