1. For a limited time I have posted two unreleased tracks from the Dandelion Method at purevolume. The first is a live cover of the Postal Service's "Such Great Heights" that was recorded at the Crocodile Cafe in January of 2005. The second is a live demo of "The Wool Gathering" (which was on our 2nd record) recorded in Matt's basement at practice sometime in 2003 or 2004. Instead of getting pretty at the end, like on the record, it gets dark and scary.
2. Speaking of purevolume, my former bandmate Miles Mattix (the best guitarist who ever played in Team November) has some new solo songs up. Miles is an incredible musician and these songs do not disappoint!
3. Speaking of Team November, my former bandmate Gwen Owen has a solo project going as well. This isn't her current "main thing" but it's still good. I see it as kind of the natural evolution of the pop stuff we were doing with Team November, only a lot more complex and interesting. Give it a listen?
4. Speaking of former bandmates, my friend Kevin is finishing his Glowworm full-length. I wish I could share the tracks I stole from him with you, but that would be mean. Let me just say they are amazing and I wish I was in his band. It will be released on the new Portland label Other Electricities, which is so new it doesn't even have a website.
5. Speaking of new labels in Portland, the new label Holocene music will release the first record from Alena Diane soon. Moody pop on the Cat Power/Joanna Newsom axis. Thumbs up!
