I don't write about teenagers like Hopper and Greenwald, and maybe that's why I'm not famous. Then again they are about 5 years old than I am. But if there is any band that makes me hunger for the possibility and promise of being 17, it is Ozma, a band I didn't hear until I was about 22. It is impossible for my heart not to soar when I hear those melodies.

You've probably heard me talk about how tragic the breakup of Wes Dando was -- they were poised for greatness -- so I'm happy to see Erick getting the rock on again, this time with Aaron Sprinkle in Fair. They have a new song, written by Erick.

i have to think that a band like ozma exists not to make us feel young again, per se, but rather to recapture the kind of innocence you have at 17 and not having it seem like a shallow or pretentious rush of emotion. and they rock, too.
Whatever it is they exist to do, it gives me a total boner.
I love ozma. They make my heart sing.
