As If You Cared, Here's What I Think
I don't suppose anyone else will put it this way, but Fiona Apple was Sixpenced. (I know you could probably insert any artist there, but that .01% out there coming from the same place I am will feel me on this.) Sure the record's coming out, sure it has the same name, but would you like to bet that it won't be as good?
Someone send me a burned CD of the leaked Extraordinary Machine, stat. I don't use filesharing networks, but I do accept presents in the mail! (Seriously, if you've got one, email me for my address. it's nertles at yahoo.)
There is a lot going on with music these days, including:
- Death Cab... #4 on Billboard. Kudos, gentlemen. The record is actually good, and is about love and death. I like! (You better believe I'm seeing them and Stars in San Fran this November.)
- Sigur Ros. I've not heard anything from Takk yet, but according to the A&Fers, it will "will make Andy Whitman weep like God Himself as Eve's teeth broke the skin of the apple." Who wants to loan me the money to buy this on tuesday?
- In major music industry news, I've started selling CDs on Ebay. Please consider buying...more will be posted soon.
- Did I mention it's my birthday in 2 weeks?
- Leigh Nash going solo. Lyrics suffer, as she's Slocum-less, but we will always love her! Her candid blog posts (esp. regarding the Sixpence breakup) are refreshing.
-On my way to California, I was driving a fifteen foot moving truck in the middle of the night and could barely stay awake. All I could get was KLOVE (kind of a Christian Clear Channel, only they really only have one station that is simulcast all over the country). I heard a new single by one of my favorite bands from age 17, Switchfoot. It was called "Stars" and although I had given up on them THE GUITARS WERE SO FAT AND HUGE THAT I WENT CRAZY AT HOW GOOD IT WAS. I don't know, man. I might get that record. I think it's also out this week. Their last record was the sound of Columbia records sucking the life out of them while simultaneously giving them hip haircuts, but they might have a chance to make something out of this one...here's hoping.
Stay tuned this month to TheOtherJournal.com to hear this white kid spout some junk about hip-hop! Peace.

Hello, you have an excellent blog here! I'm am going to bookmark your site!
I have a ##shopping##site/blog. It pretty much covers ##Online Shopping## related stuff.
Come and check it out if you get time :-)
I posted links to full streams of both that Sigur Ros album and that Switchfoot album over at unfoundbloom.blogspot.com. The Sigur Ros album is really good, but the Switchfoot album's got some rather dull songs thrown in between the better numbers.
